We Were Going to Have a Picnic Just Off Highway 1 is a multimedia drawing on watercolor paper approximately 10” x 12”. It was made in the Fall of 2016 by Amos Lemon when he was going through a traumatic relationship breakup. Lemon spent his 18th birthday at a cousin’s wedding in Northern California and got to travel the scenic highway on the way back to San Francisco. The tapestry-like landscape in the original of this piece is enhanced with gold and silver ink and has an iridescent quality.
The original was photographed in high resolution on a digital large format camera by Simone Associates. This giclee digital print was made on archival paper. Ink will eventually fade in direct sunlight.
